Crazy Crap of the Month

November 24, 2012 By: Juanita Jean Category: Uncategorized

We don’t give a Crazy Crap of the Month around here, but dammit, this might be a good time to start.

Republican lawmakers in Michigan, a state which eliminated tax credits for children last year, have proposed a tax credit for unborn foetuses of 12 weeks gestation.

Critics said the proposal was “absurd” and described it as a backdoor way of trying to pass “personhood” legislation which would give rights to an embryo and crack down on abortion.

Okay, and I haven’t even started on the fun part yet.

Fetus Lovin' Jud

One of the main sponsors of the foetus tax credit bill, Jud Gilbert, a Republican representative of Algonac, said the rationale behind it was to recognize that mothers have additional bills to pay.

Apparently, in Michigan, children don’t cost any money after they are born.

But, maybe not …

However, tax exemptions for children and families have been cut in the state, to the extent that another 9,000 children have been forced into poverty as a result, according to policy groups.

Way to go, Jud.  Your priorities are as clear as fog.

Jud Gilbert:  Crazy Crapper of the Month.

Thanks to Ralph for the heads up.

  1. Seriously folks, maybe it is time to expose the people who support these kind of ridiculous fools – as my Granny would say: “Put them up for show and see who is buying, then we will know”.

Crazy crap – it is WORSE than crazy, there should major penalities for flat-out insanity and lying (said the Lady who is in the state (TN) where ScottyBoy DesJarlis was re-elected after being exposed for insanity and his current DEVolution into stupidity regarding Choice, mistresses, drugs, guess rock and roll not allowed in the East Tennessee Hills of Stupidity.

  2. This is the Republican way. Be all for women havin’ those babies but once they’re out of the chute it’s no concern of theirs. If there is a Second Coming of Jesus, he’ll be pissed.

It is my firm belief that these fundies are waiting for Jesus 2.0 to be born. How they think they can tell if “He” (it’s gotta be a he, no way these fundies would think the second coming would be a female) has arrived is beyond me. Maybe born with a halo, speaking scripture with a cross tattooed on the baby’s right butt cheek. Once born, if there is no “sign”, to heck with the kid, just another member of the masses.

  4. We really have to start using the term “Pro Birth” and never “Pro Life.” They support absolutely nothing that would save the lives the already born and that includes supporting the death penalty.

  5. What? Wait…what?

Why am I not allowed to bop these people over the head with a wet mackerel? And can someone explain to me why people like that are allowed in any position with more responsibility than dog catcher?

  6. I live next door to Michigan. I hope whatever they have there isn’t catching.

  7. Jus when I think they can’t make my jaw drop yet again, they find a way. But at least they’re consistent.

This is a great essay by a former “pro-lifer” who realized that they’re not pro-life, they’re anti-woman. If they really wanted to prevent abortions, they’d promote free birth control and watch the abortion rate drop like a rock. Obama, by doing that, has prevented more abortions than they ever will.

It turns out that after the similar public sentiment to yours, Representative Gilbert has decided to listen to his constituents and not take up this bill. Hmmm…a legislator that listens to the people doesn’t sound that crazy to me.
