You Lay Down With Dogs, You Get Up With Fleas

So, Joe Arpaio’s right hand man got disbarred.

In a Phoenix courtroom filled with fellow lawyers and some of his biggest critics on Tuesday, the former Arizona prosecutor who served for years as Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s right-hand man was stripped of his license to practice law.

A three-member state disciplinary panel ruled that ex-Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas abused his powers as a prosecutor to target his political enemies. Because of that, they ruled he would be disbarred.

Now, I’m not saying that this guy is as crooked as a barrel of fishhooks …. no, wait, that’s exactly what I’m saying.

Of course, Thomas the Writ Twit says it’s all a giant conspiracy to get him.   Well, bless his heart, he pretty much seems to be the expert in conspiracies to get people, so maybe he’s right.  Decent people have ganged up on him and want to turn him into a crock of cow confetti for what he’s done to other decent people.

The skirmishing at the hearing would have made Gettysburg look like a ROTC drill, and Thomas came out looking like he’d spent the night in the dishwasher.

If you wait around long enough, sweet karma perches on the shoulder of justice and grins.

Thanks to Ralph for the heads-up.

  1. Lisa Aubuchon lost her license, too, and Rachel Alexander had her license suspended for six months and one day. All of these lawyers abused their powers. I guess they thought that Sheriff Joe would be able to protect them from any blow back, but it seems the state bar association didn’t care what Arpaio thought.

    Sweet sexy Sonoran schadenfreude!

  3. At the time that Richard Nixon was disbarred in NY, my brother was Secretary of the Bar Association of the City of New York, and thought he would have the privilege. However the Chair decided to not delegate his authority in this case.

My brother remained disappointed at this for years.

  4. Thus far, Maricopa County taxpayers have settled lawsuits against the County by three of the officials persecuted (or prosecuted) for $2,000,000. There are a number of other suits still pending. These asshats(sorry Momma) certainly know how to spend our money, don’t they.

    ——and what say you, Joe?

  6. I’m no lawyer, nor do I play one anywhere, but it seems to me that if this guy was disbarred for vendetta lawyerin’ wouldn’t – or mightn’t – Joe be considered complicit in it? I mean, he’s the one that would bring in the vendettee (victims?) of Thomas’s, right?

Or am I just expecting too much?

I’ll be so glad when karma drops a five gallon can of whuppass on Sheriff Joe!

  8. Did you read the judgement? Starting on page 233 is a concurring opinion that reads like a novel. This has all it needs to end up in Hollywood. I hope they don’t change the names to protect the “innocent.” The conclusion is pretty good too!

  9. Thanks, Jan for pointing me to this part of the document. I started to read it and then got boggled down and gave up.
    Wow, just wow!

Sweet karma should be doing more then grinning on his shoulder.
    Just saying…

  11. The fleas called. They would like everyone to know that they may be bloodsucking vermin but even they have standards and would not get anywhere near these scumbuckets.

    Complete this syllogisim:

    All bullies are cowards.

Andrew Thomas and Joe Arpaio are bullies.
