Okay, so here’s how Fox news plays it.

Obama administration to end funding for Texas health program over state’s abortion law

The federal government will stop funding a Texas health program that serves 130,000 low-income women because of a state law that bars abortion-affiliated clinics from getting public money, a top U.S. health official said Friday.

The federal money, which covers 90 percent of the state’s $40 million program, will be phased out between May and September because the law violates federal regulations requiring that women have a choice in medical care, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said during a trip to Houston. That means the Women’s Health Program will join a long list of programs nationwide on the chopping block because of their affiliations with Planned Parenthood or other groups that offer abortions.

So, it’s not the state’s fault for being outlaws.  It’s Obama’s fault for being sheriff.

It’s this simple:  Federal law says that for the state to get the money, they have to allow women to choose where they can get their health care.  When the state mandates which health care facility women can use (Which, by the way, usually falls under the Republican definition of socialized medicine and is evil, eviler, and evilest, unless, of course, the recipient of that health care happens to be a woman and then all bets are off because if she had a lick of sense she’d have a penis.) the money is not sent.

Rick Perry pledged that Texas would come up with the 90% matching federal funds on our own, meaning he has to go find $36 million dollars in a state with a $15 billion deficit.  Good luck with that, cowboy.

So, by stopping women from doing something perfectly legal and safe, we are going to cause women to die of disease and illness.  And that’s how pro-life works.

  1. I do hope Texas voters wake up and replace the current crop of village idiots, particularly those that voted for the state rape bill. The following excerpt from Gary Trudeau’s interview is spot on: Texas’s HB-15 isn’t hard to explain: The bill says that in order for a woman to obtain a perfectly legal medical procedure, she is first compelled by law to endure a vaginal probe with a hard, plastic 10-inch wand. The World Health Organization defines rape as “physically forced or otherwise coerced penetration — even if slight — of the vulva or anus, using a penis, other body parts or an object.” You tell me the difference.

  2. From MSNBC…… where you might expect better.

“Feds stop funding Texas women’s health program over abortion dispute”.

Texas Republicans want to dictate to women…. not only WHAT healthcare they may have….. but also WHERE they may go to get it.

NO Self-respecting woman would ever again vote for these clowns…… (I wouldn’t think.)

  3. Bev carter says:

Plus, the approved health care providers are probably also big republican providers. I had a state representative who is also an MD admit that planned parenthood provided the best care for the money. Silly me. I thought the state had a best practices law.

  4. Looking forward to Monday when Doonesbury begins giving Perry and the ledge vermin a rectal probe using a virtual plastic 10 inch wand. A shame that it’s only virtual.

  5. They tried the same thing over across the river in NH (Our upside down evil twin). As I understood it there, they’d lose all their Medicaid funds for pusing a similar gambit. It’s not just the women’s health funding. I think it is all of it. That’d be a lot bigger nut to crack for the cow-boy! I’ll have to find the link. This crap is going on anywhere there is a republican controlled legee; the lone star state isn’t lonely anymore!

  6. Any man that wants a prescription for viagra should have to have a rectal probe to determine if it is necessary. Maybe women should just say no to sex until the men change their minds!

  7. Ricky’s plan will probably pay so little that they will have a hard time finding providers. He’s too stupid to realize that without Planned Parenthood there will be more unwanted pregnancies, which will push the women onto Medicaid, or into dangerous backstreet abortions.

  8. Martha Zimmerman says:

The best way to reduce abortions? Support Planned Parenthood. Their goal is for every pregnancy to be planned for; something that every child born into this world deserves.

  9. First St. Santorum, and now you, JJ. Seems like wingnuttery is a lot like Tuesday’s roadkill chilii when it comes to causing intestinal distress.

  10. Corinne Sabo says:

Maybe Icky will stop buying hair gel & the $36 million will come from that fund.
